What is the Political Courage Test?

Georgia Congressional Special Election, District Jr, 2020 Political Courage Test

Pro-choice Do you generally support pro-choice or pro-life legislation?
Women need to make their own medical decisions.
Yes In order to balance the budget, do you support an income tax increase on any tax bracket?
Yes Do you support expanding federal funding to support entitlement programs such as Social Security and Medicare?
We need to expand Medicare to cover everyone, without co-pays and deductibles, from birth onwards. Note that Social Security is an insurance program, not an entitlement, but to keep it solvent forever, we need to removing the income cap.
Yes Do you support the regulation of indirect campaign contributions from corporations and unions?
I reject the Supreme Court's Citizens United ruling, and stand with President Carter's commentary on the ruling, that "(America's) an oligarchy, with unlimited political bribery". I support the Move to Amend organization's "We the People Amendment" to repeal the court's subversive ruling, and I support House Joint Resolution 48. I support public funding for all political campaigns, and a ban on private campaign contributions, which will save Americans trillions of dollars over time.
No Do you support the protection of government officials, including law enforcement officers, from personal liability in civil lawsuits concerning alleged misconduct?
No, every government official needs to accept personal responsibility for their actions.
No Do you support increasing defense spending?
No, we need to end spending on weapons, bring our troops home from most of the 800+ overseas bases, and retrain our military to serve in the construction trades building infrastructure for the REAL Green New Deal on American soil.
Yes Do you support federal spending as a means of promoting economic growth?
No Do you support lowering corporate taxes as a means of promoting economic growth?
Yes Do you support providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations negatively impacted by the state of national emergency for COVID-19?
My campaign discusses these issues in detail in our Pandemic Platform, please download it at http://www.FortuinForGeorgia.com/pandemic Regarding providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations impacted by COVID-19: In short, Yes, providing financial relief to businesses AND/OR corporations needs to be implemented following the Danish model of passing through up to 90% of employees' incomes. However the CARES act was a disastrous giveaway to many politically connected corporations and should have never been passed, and every cent disbursed to politically connected corporations must be audited.
Yes Do you support requiring states to adopt federal education standards?
Yes, but for-profit educational programs, for profit schools, and religious educational institutions should not receive any government funds. The below solutions are from our Pandemic Platform, download it at: http://www.FortuinForGeorgia.com/pandemic Our Education Solutions: Provide public school students and families with support to meet family nutrition requirements Implement school distribution of breakfast and lunch Provide one laptop per child Adopt equitable methods of funding school districts Eliminate student debt payments on outstanding loans
Yes Do you support government funding for the development of renewable energy (e.g. solar, wind, geo-thermal)?
Yes Do you support the federal regulation of greenhouse gas emissions?
Overwhelming science evidence demands an immediate, serious solution to climate change. For detailed climate change solutions, download our Pandemic Platform from: http://www.FortuinForGeorgia.com/pandemic I support implementing a REAL Green New Deal to achieve a net-zero carbon economy in 5 years. I support a WWII-type massive economic transformation of all economic sectors to accomplish the above. I also support H.R. 763, The Carbon Dividend Trust Fund Act, but with an amendment to revise the timelines to meet the goal of a net-zero carbon economy in 5 years. I have supported serious climate solutions since Dr. James Hansen's 1988 Congressional testimony.
Yes Do you generally support gun-control legislation?
I support ending the sale of high-capacity magazines, and prohibiting gun sales to convicted felons, those charged with domestic violence, and those engaged in supporting the overthrow of the U.S. Government, such as white supremacists.
No Do you support repealing the 2010 Affordable Care Act ("Obamacare")?
Yes Do you support requiring businesses to provide paid medical leave during public health crises, such as COVID-19?
I do not support "repeal" of "Obamacare, I support replacement of the system with a ?Medicare for All? plan. Americans, our guests, and undocumented workers deserve: Single Payer - Establish an improved ?Medicare for All? single-payer insurance program to provide everyone with affordable, quality healthcare. This plan will also cover prescription drugs, vision, dental and mental health care, on the principle of ?everyone in, no one out?. Businesses should have paid medical leave covered by government pass-through payments implementing the "Danish" plan previously discussed. Download our Pandemic Platform at http://www.fortuinforgeorgia.com/pandemic
No Do you support the construction of a wall along the Mexican border?
No Do you support requiring immigrants who are unlawfully present to return to their country of origin before they are eligible for citizenship?
We need to respect the human rights of everyone, which includes immigrants, asylum-seekers, and minorities citizens here in the U.S.
No Should the United States use military force to prevent governments hostile to the U.S. from possessing a weapon of mass destruction (for example: nuclear, biological, chemical)?
Yes Do you support reducing military intervention in Middle East conflicts?
The Green Party is committed to peace. The American people were lied to in 2001 through to the present about WMDs in the Middle East. America has many tools besides military force to end WMD programs abroad. All of America's military interventions in the Middle East have been disastrous, for the region, its peoples, and American troops and contractors. We need to bring not only our troops home, but our military contractors as well, in a controlled departure from the region, and end the weapons sales to authoritarian regimes in the region.
No Do you generally support removing barriers to international trade (for example: tariffs, quotas, etc.)?
American manufacturing jobs have been exported through "Rigged Trade" agreements to benefit the 1%. I have had careers in manufacturing, and have seen plants where I worked bulldozed flat. The REAL Green New Deal can bring manufacturing back to the U.S., reborn with actual enforcement of OSHA and EPA regulations. H.R. 763 has a crucial section titled "Carbon Border Fee Adjustment", which needs to pass to prevent dumping of imports produced with dirty energy on the U.S. market. Dumped imports both externalize the environmental costs of the import and tilt the playing field to favor dirty manufacturing.
Please explain in a total of 100 words or less, your top two or three priorities if elected. If they require additional funding for implementation, please explain how you would obtain this funding.
