Today, Congressman Xavier Becerra (CA-34), Chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, released the following statement on a proposal by members of the Los Angeles City Council to dedicate $100 million to fight homelessness:
"In dedicating $100 million to fight homelessness, our city leaders have shown a tremendous effort to make our city work for everyone. No one wants to see homelessness in Los Angeles continue to escalate. We each have a personal responsibility -- from those on the streets trying to turn their life around to those who are leaders -- to reduce homelessness. We owe it to those Angelenos to make sure the resources are in place so that they can get back on their feet. It's on all of us."
