Make sure that St. Landry and Lafayette parishes are getting a share proportional to our contribution of gas tax revenue and other infrastructure funds. Streamline DOTD by cutting bureaucracy and incentivizing results. Institute more proactive planning for anticipated projects and shorten the time between funding and shovel ready. We also need to do a real analysis on our cost per mile of construction and maintenance as compared with similar states and adjust our system accordingly.
