Chairman Becerra: You Would Have Thought Republicans Would Have Learned Their Lesson From Their 17-Month Political Debacle

Statement

Location: Washington, DC

Democratic Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra (CA-34) released a statement following Speaker Boehner's announcement of appointees to a Select Investigative Panel on Planned Parenthood:

"In three legislative days, construction on roads and bridges could come to a halt. In five legislative days, America could default on paying its bills. And in 20 legislative days, America could face a government shutdown.

"So what's next on my Republican colleagues' agenda? A special committee to investigate Planned Parenthood.
"You would have thought Republicans would have learned their lesson from their 17-month political debacle called the Select Committee on Benghazi.

"It's really past time for this Republican Congress to get to work for the sake of all Americans who don't have the same luxury to play games while on the job."
