Congressman John Fleming, M.D. released the following statement after voting in support of H.R. 3662, the Iran Terror Finance Transparency Act, to prevent the President from offering sanctions relief to any entity unless it's proven that they are not linked to Iran's pursuit of a nuclear bomb, or human rights abuses. Congress will also be given quarterly reports documenting who is seeking or being offered sanctions relief.

"While our Administration continues to push forward with a bad nuclear deal, I'm proud to support legislation that will at least prevent the President from offering sanctions relief to any individual, company, or bank with ties to Iran's terror pursuits, or human rights abuses.

"It is frightening that the U.S. has begun lifting sanctions against Iran even as it continues to provoke the United States and promises to erase Israel from a map. Iran must be held accountable for its nuclear and terror ambitions. This is just one step, but an important step, in ensuring the safety of the United States, Israel and our allies in the Middle East."
