Matt Huffman has an unwavering, lifelong commitment to protecting all human life. His dedication to this fundamental respect for life, from the beginning of that person's biological development through natural death, has been evident throughout his work in the public sector and in his private life. This promise to guarantee that all human beings have the inalienable right to life is the reason he is the only candidate in the race for 12th District Ohio Senate to be endorsed by Ohio Right to Life PAC.

Matt stood behind his beliefs and defense of the unborn as a member of the Ohio House of Representatives when he co-sponsored and voted for the Heartbeat Bill. His defense of the innocent and belief that life is sacred continued as he voted to de-fund Planned Parenthood. At each and every opportunity where he could make his vote count for life as a member of the Ohio House, Matt voted for life -- and he will continue to be active for this cause if elected to the Ohio Senate.

In addition to his official duties working towards ensuring respect and protection for all life, Matt has devoted time to this cause in his private life. Soon after the Roe v Wade decision in 1973, the Huffman family was instrumental in the founding of a local crisis pregnancy center to help moms in need, ensuring that their lives and those of their children are improved, enhanced and even saved. A generation later, the Huffman family remains active and dedicated supporters of Heartbeat of Lima.

Matt is quite proud of his YES votes for LIFE:

House Bill 125 (129th GA) and House Bill 248 (130th GA), the "Heartbeat Bill", on
June 30, 2011 and again on December 10, 2014.

House Bill 59 (130th GA), a budget bill which included de-funding Planned Parenthood. This bill also included funding for crisis pregnancy centers, like Heartbeat of Lima, to help pregnant women and new mothers and to promote childbirth over adoption. This bill was enacted on June 30, 2013.

House Bill 63 (129th GA), a bill that requires a pregnant minor receive judicial consent to obtain an abortion. This bill was enacted on February 3, 2012.

House Bill 79 (129th GA), which prohibits qualified health plans from covering certain abortions. This bill was enacted on March 22, 2012.

House Bill 78 (129th GA), which revised as a criminal act a post-viability abortion. This bill was enacted on October 20, 2011.
