Statement from Governor Hassan on House Passage of Bill to Establish Statewide Drug Court Program

Press Release

Date: May 11, 2016
Location: Concord, NH

"In order to support the countless citizens battling addiction across the state, we must ensure that we provide our people with access to immediate treatment and a robust, long-term recovery system. Existing drug courts have proved effective in providing those within our justice system access to treatment and recovery, and drug courts have been successful in reducing crime, saving money and helping people return to their communities as contributing members of society through community supervision and intensive treatment."

"By expanding existing drug courts and establishing new drug courts across the state, this bipartisan legislation is critical to our efforts to help prevent people from slipping back into addiction and crime. It is my hope that the Senate and House will quickly work together to finalize this legislation, and send it to my desk for signature."
