Santarsiero Condemns Trump's Racist Comments; Calls Out Brian Fitzpatrick's Silence

Press Release

Date: June 6, 2016
Location: Morrisville, PA

Today, Democratic State Rep. Steve Santarsiero issued a statement condemning Republican Presidential nominee Donald Trump's racially-motivated attack on an American judge as being biased because he is "Mexican." Likewise, Santarsiero called out his Republican opponent, Brian Fitzpatrick, for his ongoing refusal to comment on the Republican Presidential nominee.

"Donald Trump's bigoted attacks have no place in our public discourse. Trump's comments not only tear at the diverse fabric that is America, but they undermine our justice system and our rule of law," said Steve Santarsiero. "It's unfortunate that my Republican opponent, Brian Fitzpatrick, continues to stay silent on these important issues and refuses to condemn the intolerance being espoused by the leader of his own political party."

Brian's silence on the issue is not new; after refusing to say who he was voting for for President, Brian stated he would support whichever Republican won Bucks County (it was Donald Trump). However, Brian refused to comment on Trump to the Philadelphia Inquirer for over two weeks and is currently attempting to avoid public debates with Santarsiero, as the Republican nominee continues to draw fire from leaders across the political spectrum.
