Chairman Becerra: "A Real Solution Should Help, Not Hurt Puerto Rico"

Democratic Caucus Chairman Xavier Becerra (CA-34) has released the following statement in response to the introduction of H.R. 5278, the Puerto Rico Oversight, Management, and Economic Stability Act.

"I'm going to review the bill carefully. I've had many concerns over where negotiations were heading. A real solution goes after the root causes of Puerto Rico's fiscal crisis and the bad actors. A real solution should help, not hurt, hardworking families who did nothing more than play by the rules -- they should not shoulder the burden of this crisis."
