Matthew Corey won the Connecticut Republican Party's nomination for U.S. Congress (Connecticut - District 1) and will face Democratic Rep. John Larson in November. Corey was nominated by Lou Spadaccini, former Mayor of Manchester, who praised his commitment and service to his community.

Corey is no stranger to the 1st District Congressional race. He ran against Larson in 2014 as the Republican endorsed candidate and in 2012 as an unaffiliated candidate. During his acceptance speech Monday night, Corey stated "We have the choice this November. Accept the slow decay of a nation - Or believe in me. Believe that Republicans can win the 1st District.
