Issue Position

There were some in state government who didn't want Amazon to locate in South Carolina. At a time when our state continues to face record unemployment, I knew we couldn't afford to let a wonderful opportunity slip through our hands. I took a stand. I led the fight to bring Amazon here. And we were able to create thousands of good-paying jobs in Lexington County. Improving our economy is a top priority for me. I've worked hard to expand economic incentives, promote agribusiness and tourism, and build a business-friendly environment that allows companies to succeed. And I'm committed to doing everything I can to foster economic development opportunities that will keep businesses here, bring new investments to our state and get South Carolinians back to work.
