Issue Position

The Affordable Care Act has failed the people of Minnesota. Prior to its passage, Minnesota had one of the highest percentages of citizens with health insurance. After passage of the ACA, Minnesota spent hundreds of millions of dollars on a failed exchange still plagued with problems. Unbelievably large deductibles are now part of healthcare in Minnesota. In addition, premiums have skyrocketed for many Minnesotans, while the percentage of those insured has only increased slightly. The first step to fixing the disaster that is the ACA is to stop wasting taxpayer dollars on the MnSure exchange. From there, we can return to our roots as a leader in providing quality healthcare.
