Darren believes in free trade but he also believes in fair trade. While government cannot create jobs, it can provide an atmosphere to promote jobs through innovation, research, grants and loans.
Darren believes we should give a tax holiday to small business similar to the tax holiday we give for education that would give small businesses the opportunity to purchase furniture and other office supplies needed for their business tax free on a specified day or weekend each year.
He also firmly believes that a Tennessee businesses should have first priority status for state and local contracts, so our tax dollars create jobs here, locally, and not in other states or overseas.
Darren believes we need to invest in workforce training through technical schools and community colleges so young people have the opportunity to gain the skills they need for 21st century jobs.
