A prominent Montana gun-rights group is endorsing the Republican challenger in the Montana gubernatorial race, just as Hillary Clinton is set to take the stage in Philadelphia with the endorsement of Governor Steve Bullock (D-MT).

Bozeman businessman and tech entrepreneur Greg Gianforte already landed the coveted endorsement from the National Rifle Association in his run for governor. And now, another prominent gun-rights group is endorsing Gianforte.

Gary Marbut is president of the Montana Shooting Sports Association, the primary political advocate for gun owners here in Montana. Marbut says Gianforte is clearly the best candidate to occupy the Governor's Office for the next four years.

GARY MARBUT: "Montana gun owners have been stonewalled long enough by an incumbent governor who doesn't truly believe in the Right to Keep and Bear Arms as an unalienable human right that the people have reserved to themselves from government interference. Gianforte is an active hunter, a committed gun owner, and an active shooter. He is genuine and exactly the kind of guy Montana needs to occupy the Governor's Office in Helena."

GIANFORTE: "There is a clear choice in this race for Governor. I'm honored to have the endorsement of groups like the Montana Shooting Sports Association and others who are defending our freedoms and the Constitution. My opponent, on the other hand, vetoed gun rights bills and endorsed the anti-gun Hillary Clinton for president."

Gianforte is the founder of RightNow Technologies. He started the company out of his house in Bozeman, and created over 500 jobs in Montana. The average Montana salary at RightNow was nearly $90,000 a year. Oracle purchased RightNow in 2012, and continues to expand the company's footprint in Montana.

The Montana Shooting Sports Association joins a growing list of organizations and individuals endorsing the Gianforte campaign; including the National Rifle Association, the Montana Chamber of Commerce, Montana Farm Bureau, the Montana Bankers Association, the Montana Building Industry Association, the Susan B. Anthony List, the Montana Association of Realtors, several former Montana governors and statewide officials, and others.
