The Delaware To-do List Item #2: Stemming Illegal Immigration And Dangerous Refugee Settlement

Press Release

Date: Aug. 22, 2016
Location: Dover, DE
Issues: Immigration

Today, State Senator Colin Bonini released the second item in a series of policy proposals that will be announced in the coming weeks. The proposals, titled "The Delaware To-Do List," outline his solutions on how, if elected governor, he will put Delaware back on track.

This week's item on the "To-Do List" addresses how Delaware can stem the flow of illegal immigration and dangerous refugee settlement. These proposals will increase public safety, save taxpayer's money, and bring fairness and accountability to the immigration process.

In response to the proposal, Bonini stated, "Lawful immigration is one of the trademarks and strengths of our great country. Almost all of us can point to a family lineage of immigration here in the United States and we are rightfully proud of that heritage. The history of immigration to America has brought us the beautifully diverse tapestry of culture that our nation celebrates and enjoys. However, illegal immigration is a serious issue that we as leaders must address."

He continued, "Delawareans deserve to have a chief executive who will put the safety of citizens above political correctness. These commonsense safeguards do not preclude helping those in need, but simply ensures public safety comes first. As Governor, I will ensure the safety of Delawareans is always first."
He concluded, "Illegal immigration has a real and negative impact on Delaware. We must elect leadership with the courage to confront this issue head-on. I have that courage."
