U.S. Senator John Boozman stepped into the classroom to learn from Rogers High School students Tuesday.

Boozman joined Advanced Placement computer science students for an Hour of Code. The event aims to prepare students for careers in technology. Boozman says learning these skills is crucial for students who will one day enter the 21st century workforce.

"It doesn't matter what you're going to in the future, as time goes by it's going to become even more important. It's very important now, but it really does make a huge difference if you can design your own website and do some of these things for yourself," he said.

Last year, the Arkansas legislature passed a law requiring at least one high-quality computer science course be offered in every public high school in the state.
