Today, the Maricopa County Superior Court announced the results for the recount in Arizona's Fifth Congressional District. Andy Biggs entered the recount with a 16-vote lead over Christine Jones. The official recount results show Andy Biggs increased his lead to 27 votes, becoming the Republican nominee in the race to replace Congressman Matt Salmon. Andy Biggs released the following statement:

"For the past 18 days, voters in Arizona's Fifth District have been anxiously waiting for the final results in Arizona's Fifth District. The Maricopa County Recorder's has maintained a high level of professionalism throughout this process, and I would like congratulate them on their fine job."

"I am extremely humbled that the recount once again showed that I am the Republican nominee. I am proud that voters vested their trust in me to be their conservative Representative in Congress. I congratulate all of my opponents as well, who gave it their all in this hard-fought primary. Our campaign is far from over and our team of volunteers are ready to hit the ground running again. November is around the corner, and I am looking forward to continuing to spread our conservative message of a more limited, constitutional government."
