Andy Biggs' Statement on Obamacare Premiums Increases

Today, Andy Biggs released the following statement upon hearing the news that Obamacare premiums across the nation would increase by double-digit percentages in 2017.

"This increase in Obamacare premiums is the price we Americans pay for "passing something so that we can find out what is in it.' We were promised that we could keep our insurance if we wanted to, and that our health care premiums would be cost-affordable. Neither promise to the American people has been kept, and my state is paying greatly in the wake of the Affordable Care Act."

"If elected, Hillary Clinton would pursue the same policies that led to the formation and execution of Obamacare. Instead of the failed policies and broken promises that have followed Obamacare since its inception, we need to repeal the Affordable Care Act and to replace it entirely with free market principles. I look forward to joining the U.S. House of Representatives in 2017 and fighting to this end everyday that I am in Congress."

According to the Associated Press, "in Arizona, unsubsidized premiums for a 27-year-old buying a benchmark "second-lowest cost silver plan' will jump by 116 percent, from $196 to $422, according to the administration report."
