Advisory: HHS Announces Over $3 Billion in Funding for Energy Assistance Program

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' (HHS) Administration for Children and Families has announced over $3 billion in funding for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). LIHEAP aids low-income families and individuals with bill payments, energy crises, energy efficiency improvements, and energy-related home repairs.

Georgia has received $49,887,842 in LIHEAP funding for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017, an increase of over $1 million from FY 2016. Funding was provided through the FY 2017 Continuing Resolution, Public Law 114-223, which was enacted on September 29, 2016.
