Today, Rep. Judy Chu (CA-27) hosted a Job Hunters Boot Camp at Grapevine Arbor Park in San Gabriel, CA. The Boot Camp was attended by over 100 job seekers who received resources, advice, and employment opportunities from 50 employers and volunteer groups. Attendees were able to get resume help, speak with employers, apply for jobs, and attend workshops on branding, growing a business, and more. There was also a specialized workshop for veterans entering the workforce. Rep. Chu released the following statement:

"I'm privileged to once again be hosting my Job Hunters Boot Camp. Although our economy has added an impressive 15.3 million jobs since 2010, the recovery from the Great Recession is still slow. Wages, in particular, are not rising at a fast enough rate and many others find it hard to reenter the work force after being unemployed for long periods of time. In Washington, I'm working to help by making it easier for small businesses to get the capital they need to grow and by supporting new infrastructure spending to help create millions of new jobs. We also need to make it easier to get a degree without taking on a lifetime of debt. But those are long-term solutions. If you're unemployed, looking to reenter the job market, or just graduating from school I want to make sure you can put your skills to work immediately. That is what today's boot camp was meant to do and I am thrilled that we had such a strong turnout."
