Today, Andy Biggs, Republican nominee for Arizona's Fifth Congressional District, won the race to replace Congressman Matt Salmon in the U.S. House of Representatives.

"I am truly humbled for the opportunity to replace Congressman Matt Salmon in Arizona's Fifth Congressional District. When we announced our candidacy this past spring, we knew that this would be a hard-fought battle -- from start to finish. Our team of grassroots supporters left nothing to chance throughout the entire campaign. Our win tonight is a testament to the conservative principles that are strongly held by the East Valley electorate.

Congressman Matt Salmon has been an exemplary representative and conservative warrior. I want to thank Matt and Nancy Salmon for their service to our state and for their support for me. We have a long fight ahead of us to bring back our country to constitutional principles. I pledge to serve the people Arizona's Fifth District to the best of my abilities, and continue our fight for a more limited, constitutional form of government."
