Murphy: New Trump Order About "Hate, Fear & Prejudice" Not Values

Phil Murphy today released the following statement upon learning of President Trump's re-issued Muslim travel ban:

"This latest executive order is nothing more than the Trump administration doubling-down on its misguided policy that our nation, long a beacon of hope and opportunity, should be closed and fearful. This is not about national security -- it never was. It is about politics, pandering, and an attempt to change the White House's failing and flailing narrative. This ban is about hate, fear, and prejudice and will never live up to the values of inclusion and openness that built our nation. Governor Christie's continued silence while Donald Trump tramples on New Jersey's values has been deafening. I will be a governor who will not give silent acquiescence to injustice, but forceful opposition."
