Banks Praises Decision to Restore Mexico City Policy

Congressman Jim Banks (IN-03) today praised President Trump's decision to restore the Mexico City Policy:

"I commend the Trump Administration for taking this important step to save lives and protect American taxpayers from paying for abortions. Our country's foreign policy should affirm the fundamental principle that human life is sacred."

The Mexico City Policy was originally instituted by President Ronald Reagan, and it prohibits American taxpayer money from flowing to non-governmental organizations in foreign countries that provide or promote abortions. President Obama reversed this policy in 2009, President Trump reinstated it today.
