Dingell Statement on Supreme Court Allowing Parts of President Trump's Muslim Ban to Take Effect

Statement

Date: June 26, 2017
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Congresswoman Debbie Dingell (MI-12) released the following statement after the Supreme Court announced that they will hear President Trump's Muslim ban case and allow parts of the ban to take effect prior to the ruling.

"Our most fundamental responsibility is to keep this country safe. National security leaders have warned that this ban will endanger our national security and hurt, not help, our fight against terror. It is disappointing that the Supreme Court will allow parts of this dangerous and discriminatory ban to take effect while they hear arguments against it. This ban, in any form, is inconsistent with our Constitution and our values as Americans and has no place in our democracy."
