Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released to following statement after President Trump issued a new Executive Order banning travelers from six Muslim-majority countries.

"This repackaged Muslim ban is just another thinly-veiled attempt to discriminate against our Muslim brothers and sisters," said Congresswoman Adams. "This ban, like the last, was established under the auspice of increased security yet the administration has provided no explanation for why people from these six countries pose a risk to our national security.

"Following multiple defeats in court, President Trump is attempting to redeem himself from the embarrassment he felt after signing his last illegal ban. The American people will not be fooled.

"We cannot allow hateful rhetoric and discrimination to determine national policy- it will only weaken our ability to fight terror."
