Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12) released the following statement after President Trump announced a ban on transgender Americans serving in our military via Twitter.

"Today's outrageous announcement is not reflective of our American values," said Congresswoman Adams. "Every brave service member willing to put their life on the line to protect our freedoms deserves the right to serve and our full respect for their sacrifices. I stand with the thousands of active duty transgender service members currently serving and thank them for their commitment to our nation."
