Rokita Backs Bipartisan Tax Reform

Statement

Congressman Todd Rokita released the following statement following President Trump's discussion in Springfield, Missouri regarding the importance of tax reform.

"Tax reform will help revive the American Dream. We absolutely need to reform our tax code in order to help Hoosiers. I stand as an ally with President Trump and Vice President Pence as we pursue bipartisan tax reform through Congress. Small businesses are the backbone of our economy and they are our largest employers. However, they have been crippled by our out of date and overly complicated tax code. Reforming the tax code will help hardworking middle class Americans, small business owners, and all taxpayers. This is an important step for our nation to take in order to build our nation's economy, make our businesses more competitive, and bring back jobs that were sent overseas."

Congressman Todd Rokita serves as the Vice Chairman of the House Budget Committee where tax reform will start. Rokita has been working on tax reform for years because he has seen and heard about our current tax code's crippling effects from many Hoosiers. Rokita is looking forward to working with his colleagues to push through tax reform for the American people.
