Congressman Todd Rokita released the following statement after voting in favor of life with the Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act. Rokita is a co-sponsor of this legislation.
"I will always stand up for a baby's right to life--this is why I stand in strong support of the Pain Capable Child Protection Act as a cosponsor. This will help save innocent lives like Micah--Micah is a five year old child who was born at 20 weeks and is now living a healthy life. Here in Indiana, abortion rates have fallen over the last several years. With this legislation, this rate will continue to fall by protecting the unborn. I will continue fighting to protect American lives and American values."
This legislation will protect babies after 20 weeks of pregnancy--20 weeks is when a baby starts to feel pain. Tonight is the Right to Life of Indianapolis' Celebrate Life Dinner. Congressman Rokita congratulates them on their efforts to protect the unborn and promote a culture of life.
