Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Oil and Gas

Today, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL) issued the following statement voicing opposition to the Trump Administration's decision to reopen offshore drilling leases -- putting Delaware's coastline in risk.

"The Administration's move to reopen Atlantic drilling will jeopardize the economic, environmental, and public health of Delaware's coastal communities and directly contribute to global climate change and rising sea levels," said Congresswoman Blunt Rochester. "Delaware's natural resources, including our pristine shoreline, drive local tourism and coastal industry. These resources and our environment have always been at the very core of Delaware's identity. We must do everything we can to ensure that Delaware's natural heritage is preserved for our children and grandchildren."
