On Wednesday night, the White House released the following statement:

"President Donald J. Trump is grateful to Chairman Goodlatte, Chairman McCaul, Congressman Labrador, and Congresswoman McSally for introducing immigration legislation that would accomplish the President's core priorities for the American people. The President looks forward to advancing legislation that secures the border, ends chain migration, cancels the visa lottery, and addresses the status of the DACA population in a responsible fashion."

On Wednesday afternoon, Rep. Raúl Labrador (R-ID) and three of his House colleagues introduced H.R. 4760, the Securing America's Future Act. This bill bolsters enforcement of existing immigration law, makes important reforms to our legal immigration programs, secures the border, and provides a legislative solution for the current beneficiaries of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. To learn more about the bill, click here.

Today, Rep. Labrador released the following statement:

"I appreciate President Trump's strong praise of our immigration bill. We wrote it specifically to help the President keep his promise to the American people to fix our broken immigration system. As the President himself said during Tuesday's meeting, our bill should be the start of the immigration reform process in Congress. We need House Leadership to work with us and bring our bill to the floor. Together, we can get 218 votes. We can maximize our negotiating position with the Senate. And we can deliver a big win for the American people."

On Wednesday night, Rep. Labrador appeared on Tucker Carlson Tonight to discuss the Securing America's Future Act. To watch the interview, click here.
