Chairman Womack Statement on CBO Oversight Hearing

House Budget Committee Chairman Steve Womack released the following statement after the Committee conducted an oversight hearing related to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). Today's hearing, CBO Oversight: Organizational and Operational Structure, is the first in a five-part series and included testimony from CBO's director, Dr. Keith Hall.

"My thanks to Dr. Keith Hall for providing valuable insight about the inner workings of the Congressional Budget Office. I am encouraged by the discussions that began today," said Chairman Steve Womack. "As we continue these conversations in the coming days and weeks, I look forward to identifying ways to ensure this vital, nonpartisan support agency has the tools needed to effectively and efficiently carry out its mission."

The next hearing in the series, CBO Oversight: Economic Assumptions, Baseline Construction, Cost Estimating, and Scoring, will take place on Tuesday, February 6, at 10:00 am.
