Fischer Again Votes to Extend CHIP, Open Government

Statement

Date: Jan. 22, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Senator Deb Fischer (R-Neb.) today released the following statement after the Senate voted to reopen the government:

"Once again today, I voted to deliver much-needed resources to our men and women in uniform, ensure health care for children by extending the CHIP program, and fund our government. I am pleased my Democrat colleagues joined us to fund these very important priorities for the people of our country. The agreement passed today is no different than the final agreement offered late on Friday, prior to the shutdown. Delaying the passage of this legislation was unnecessary; Nebraskans want to see us working together for our country."
