Rokita Donates Schumer Shutdown Salary To Border Patrol Agents, ICE Agents, and First Responders

Press Release

Date: March 6, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

In February, Congressman Todd Rokita donated his salary from the Schumer Shutdown. The three days worth of salary - $940 - was divided amongst three organizations that provide resources for families of fallen or injured border patrol agents, to ICE agents, and to developing training opportunities for firefighters, police officers, and EMS.

"Because Senate Democrats decided to put illegal immigrants ahead of keeping the government open, I've donated my Schumer Shutdown pay to charities helping those keep our nation safe," said Congressman Todd Rokita. "I'm honored to have given to charities that support our border patrol agents, ICE officers, and first-responders."

The Congressman gave donations to The Border Patrol Foundation, the ICE Foundation, and the MAAC Foundation. All three organizations faithfully and proactively aid those who currently serve and aspire to be protectors of the American people.
