Young Statement on Balanced Budget Amendment

Iowa Congressman David Young issued the following statement after the House of Representatives voted on a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution.

"Families across Iowa work hard every day to balance their budgets. State legislatures in 49 states, including Iowa, are required to produce a balanced budget each year. A Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution is the needed fix to stop the runaway spending in Washington, D.C.

"Both sides of the aisle are complicit in this debt predicament and the Balanced Budget Amendment gives us the discipline and tool we need to solve this problem."
