Chairman Womack Statement on CBO's 2018 Long-Term Budget Outlook

Statement

Date: June 26, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

House Budget Committee Chairman Steve Womack issued the following statement after the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) released its latest report, the 2018 Long-Term Budget Outlook.

"While CBO's latest projections are sobering, it should not come as a surprise that America's current fiscal path is unsustainable," said Chairman Womack. "Through passage of the Budget for a Brighter American Future last week, the House Budget Committee already acknowledged the real challenges and called for solutions to deal with the rapidly rising debt. The nation's outlook can only be improved by building on economic successes and committing to thoughtful reforms -- like those called for in our balanced budget plan."
