Date: June 8, 2018
Location: Washington, DC

U.S. Representative Evan Jenkins (R-W.Va.) voted yes today to help pass H.R. 3, the Spending Cuts to Expired and Unnecessary Programs Act.

The bill eliminates $15 billion in unspent federal funds for programs that have expired or are no longer authorized.

"Congress has voted nearly 500 times to cut unneeded or wasteful funding, and these votes have always been bipartisan and proposed by presidents on both sides. Our nation's debt now tops $21 trillion, and tens of billions of taxpayer dollars are sitting unused. This is a fiscally responsible vote to cut wasteful spending and restore accountability to Washington," Rep. Jenkins said.

The bill passed the House late Thursday night.
