Rosen Statement on Heller's Support for Judge Kavanaugh

Statement

Date: July 19, 2018

"If Sen. Heller doesn't have a single reservation about confirming Judge Kavanaugh, then he clearly didn't ask tough questions in this meeting, he didn't do his job, and he isn't representing the will of Nevadans"

Today, Sen. Dean Heller met briefly with President Trump's nominee for Supreme Court in Washington and announced immediately afterward that he has "no reservations in confidently supporting Judge Kavanaugh's confirmation."

In the past, Judge Kavanaugh has demonstrated hostility to Roe v. Wade, he's a threat to the Affordable Care Act's coverage protections for pre-existing conditions, he's ruled to advance Yucca Mountain, and he's often found himself siding with corporate special interests at the expense of regular hardworking people.

Nevada Congresswoman and candidate for U.S. Senate Jacky Rosen released the following statement:

"If Sen. Heller doesn't have a single reservation about confirming Judge Kavanaugh, then he clearly didn't ask tough questions in this meeting, he didn't do his job, and he isn't representing the will of Nevadans. Sen. Heller has never voted against a major nominee put forward by President Trump, and he's once again shown Nevadans that he will be the White House's loyal rubber stamp."
