Today, U.S. Representative Tim Walz (MN-01) released the following statement in opposition to H.R. 6136 and H.R. 4760:

"It's a shame that House Republicans are once again choosing radical partisanship over compassionate commonsense. Not only do these bills fail to provide our Dreamers the proper protection they deserve, but they also fail to sufficiently address the humanitarian crisis the Trump administration created by barbarically separating children from their families at the border.

"These pieces of legislation show that House Republicans have no serious plan for meaningful immigration reform. Instead of advancing their radical agenda, Republicans in Washington must work with Democrats to immediately pass the Keep Families Together Act, which I introduced in part to help reunite families that have been unconscionably torn apart by the Trump administration. Then, we must work in a bipartisan manner on real, comprehensive immigration reform."
