ANGUS KING IS COSTING MAINERS MILLIONS

Medicaid expansion is still up in the air as the Legislature is set to reconvene this Thursday.

Eric Brakey offered his thoughts on the current healthcare crisis affecting Maine and our nation:

"There is no question that Maine people need better, more accessible and more affordable healthcare options.

"I worked to pass a law that allows patients to seek alternative medical treatments without the government interfering. I'm also proud of the work we did in the Maine Senate to pass a bill championed by Senator Whittemore which allows patients to shop outside of their network, without the Government telling them they can't.

"With all the progress we are making at the local level in Maine, I am appalled by the lack of progress being made in Washington DC. My opponent, Angus King, supported Obamacare, which has made healthcare so unaffordable that 34,000 Mainers elected to pay $15.4 million in penalties in 2015 rather than purchase a plan through the marketplace.

"There is something very wrong with this picture. As President Trump continues seeking solutions to fix this broken system, Angus King continues obstructing all progress, costing Maine people millions.

"I'm ready to go to Washington DC and get to work to stop the robbery of Maine people and to fix our broken healthcare system so we all can have access to affordable quality care. We need to remember that good healthcare isn't government healthcare. Good healthcare takes place when we the people are in charge, not when bureaucrats and corporate executives stand between us and our doctors."

Eric Brakey is a two term Maine State Senator running for US Senate against Angus King.
