Issue Position: Quality Education

Issue Position

For Curtis, quality education is more than it talking point. It changed his life.

"Freshman year of high school, I was ranked second to last in my class. My school almost told me not to come back, but my teachers took a chance on me. I signed a contract agreeing to achieve at least 'B' grades. With encouragement and support from my teachers, I made the grades. I still have that contract because it serves as a reminder that well-supported schools and teachers can change the course of a child's life."
- Curtis J. Tarver II

After mentoring students in disadvantaged areas for over a decade, Curtis understands the struggle students, teachers, and parents face when schools don't have the resources they need to succeed. He knows that education is the key to opening the doors of opportunity for young people.

As your state representative, Curtis will fight for more resources for our children and to ensure that the quality of a child's education is not be determined by the neighborhood they grow up in.
