Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi applauds the signing into law of the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization, a law which includes an amendment authored by Congressman Krishnamoorthi requiring the FAA to study the economic impacts of excessive noise around airports.

"My constituents, my family, and I are all too familiar with noise from O'Hare International Airport as planes land and take off, and I know my district isn't the only one," said Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi. "Not only is this noise affecting families, but also businesses near the airport whose success may be suffering. My amendment will give us data on a number of factors including employee productivity, retention, morale and satisfaction. Addressing this excessive noise is crucial to communities around the country, and I am happy to see it included in the final law. I thank the Chairman and Ranking Member of the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee for their work with me on this important issue, and I look forward to working with them as we make sure that communities near airports are not unnecessarily burdened with aircraft noise."
