Issue Position: My Priorities

Issue Position

No State Income Tax. Washington State continues to have a robust economy with over 10% percent increase in State revenues over the past few years. We have seen tremendous growth which means we need to spend wisely instead of raising more taxes on the backs of our hard working constituents. We do not need an income tax in Washington state, and I will certainly vote against one!

Mental Health & Developmental Disability Services. Having served as the assistant ranking on the House Healthcare & Wellness Committee has given me a strong understanding of our healthcare system in Washington State. I meet regularly with major healthcare providers, insurance carriers, and ordinary citizens concerned about their health coverage.
We need to bring back adequate mental health and disability services into our local community. Local care means both community and family support to these individuals at a time when they need it the most. These services are also critical to our homeless population as we strive to help those individuals get back on their feet and back into the workforce

No Tolling on I-5 or I-205. I will not support tolling on the I-5 and I-205 bridges without an increase in lane capacity. We need more lanes and better infrastructure to reduce traffic congestion and improve freight mobility. We must give defined improvements where we will see actual results. These improvements must occur on both sides of the Columbia and I promise I will work with whomever wants to be a part of this solution.
