Date: Jan. 1, 2018
Issues: Elections

By now, you should have received your mail-in ballot. In looking at it, you may be overwhelmed at the number of issues there are to vote on, in addition to the elected officials you are asked to select.

I've found a great resource I wanted to share to allow you to quickly gather information about each of items on the ballot.

Here's the list of issues and the links:

Utah Constitutional Amendment A, the Active Military Property Tax Exemption Measure
Utah Constitutional Amendment B, the Tax Exemption for Property Leased by a Government Entity Measure
Utah Constitutional Amendment C, the Legislature Able to Convene a Special Session Measure
Also, the elected offices and candidates you are being asked to vote for are:

U.S. Senate: Mitt Romney (R), Jenny Wilson (D), Craig Bowden (Libertarian), Reed McCandless (Independent American), and Tim Aalders (Constitution)
U.S. House of Representatives District 3: John Curtis (R), James Singer (D), Tim Zeidner (United Utah Party), and Gregory Duerden (IA)

Alpine School Board District 3: Sarah Beeson v. Afa Palu

Hopefully, this will help you make an informed decision. Don't delay. Send your ballot back in the mail -- don't forget to sign the envelope and use a stamp.

The more we are involved and understand the issues, the better we can plan for the future of our country, state, and communities.

All the best,

Jon Hawkins
