Issue Position

Strong communities require ample resources for public safety, community schools, blight reduction, and other local services. Here in Genesee County we have seen reductions in services in our local communities despite the best work of our local leaders. This is often a consequence of State reductions in funding to local communities. Legislative games and gimmicks has resulted in the diversion of dollars from our school aid fund, resulting in less dollars going to classrooms. We need to prioritize funding to local communities that deliver the services that are most fundamental to our citizens.
