Thomas is pro-life and strongly supports the protection of life at all stages and is endorsed by Right to Life of Michigan.

Thomas voted in support of allowing an embryo or fetus to be classified as a person for sentencing guidelines. He also supported the establishing of a "Choose-Life" license plate, which was unfortunately vetoed.

Thomas also introduced legislation which would require marijuana sold at dispensaries in Michigan to include a warning label stating, "Warning: Use by Pregnant Women or Breastfeeding Women May Result in Birth Complications or Negative Long-Term Effects for the Child." Studies have shown the women who use marijuana on a regular basis are at high risk of continuing to use while pregnant or breastfeeding. The Centers for Disease Control and the American College of Gynecologist and Obstetricians both recommend against marijuana use while pregnant or breastfeeding.
