Walberg Stands up For Second Amendment Rights

Congressman Tim Walberg (MI-07) today released the following statement after voting against H.R. 8, a gun control bill that undermines the Second Amendment rights of the American people.

"The Second Amendment is a fundamental part of our nation's founding and the rights afforded to our citizens. As we examine ways to prevent acts of violence--a shared goal of all of us--our efforts should zero in on criminals instead of restricting the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. We would be better served by working on solutions to strengthen the enforcement of current laws, improve access to mental health care, and address the underlying factors of violence."

Congressman Walberg serves on the House Energy and Commerce Committee and the House Education and Labor Committee as Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Health, Employment, Labor, and Pensions.
