Cheney Statement on Dems Attempting To Overturn President Trump's Veto Related To His Emergency Declaration

On Tuesday, the House voted on H.J. Resolution 46 to overturn President Trump's veto of Congress's disapproval of his national emergency declaration to secure our southern border. Below is Congresswoman Liz Cheney's statement on the vote:

"There is a crisis taking place along the southern border that requires action. Instead of working with President Trump and Republicans to try and address this pressing issue, Speaker Pelosi initially refused to allow even $1 to go towards securing the border. The Democrats' political games forced the President to use his authority to declare a national emergency in order to provide the resources we need to secure our border.

"I'm proud to stand with the President today in upholding his veto and remain committed to working with him to build the wall, secure the border, and keep our country safe."
