Adams' Statement on the Administration's Mass Deportation Policy

Statement

Date: June 19, 2019
Location: Washington, DC
Issues: Immigration

Congresswoman Alma S. Adams (NC-12) released the following statement on President Trump's announcement that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) will begin a mass deportation of undocumented immigrants next week.

"President Trump's threat to begin mass deportation is another cruel act rooted in bigotry. This plan is an affront to our values, and will tear apart families across the country, including in North Carolina's 12th District. It's time for the President to let go of these discriminatory policies and work with Congress to develop an effective and humane plan for immigration reform. I stand with our immigrant community and will continue to fight back against these harmful policies."
