Statement by Congressman Dan Kildee on UAW-GM tentative agreement

Statement

Date: Oct. 16, 2019
Issues: Labor Unions

Congressman Dan Kildee (MI-05), Chief Deputy Whip of the House Democratic Caucus, issued the following statement after General Motors and the United Auto Workers announced that they have reached a tentative agreement:

"A proposed tentative agreement between General Motors and the UAW is a positive step forward. I respect the hardworking men and women of the United Auto Workers, who will make the final decision on whether or not to ratify their contract. Workers deserve a fair shake from GM that includes good wages, strong health care, job security and a commitment from the company to make their vehicles in America."
