Haaland Will Vote Yes on Impeachment

Statement

Date: Dec. 5, 2019
Location: Washington, DC

Congresswoman Deb Haaland (NM-01) released the following statement after Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced that the U.S. House will move forward with articles of impeachment:

"No president should be able to abuse the power of the presidency for personal gain. However, as we've moved through the impeachment inquiry, the facts are indisputable and have proven over and over that President Trump betrayed his oath of office by putting our national security at risk with a bribe for his personal and political gain. Not only that, he corrupted and abused the office of the President.

"This is a fight for our democracy, and President Trump puts our democracy at risk. I will proudly cast my vote to live up to our responsibility to ensure that no one, not even the president, is above the law."
